background

The album went straight to number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart . The song Guerilla Radio was on the soundtrack for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on PC and heavily changed on Nintendo 64 . The Time called it the "Best Album 1999". It was also listed at number 53 in the list of the 100 best albums 1985-2000 by SPIN magazine .

The album cover was originally from artist Joey Krebs (Joel Jaramillo), a well-known Los Angeles artist who has several exhibitions in LA, New York and across the United States .

The texts were u. a. influenced by George Orwell's 1984 novel . In Testify , Sleep Now in the Fire and Voice of the Voiceless direct quotes and key words occur in the book.

The song Calm Like a Bomb is part of the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack . For the European and Australian versions of the album there is a bonus track No Shelter , which is part of the soundtrack for the first US remake of Godzilla . The videos for Sleep Now in the Fire and Testify were produced by Michael Moore .

In 2003 the album was placed at number 426 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 best albums of all time .
