The Game is an American dramedy series that started in October 2006, originally as a sitcom . The first three seasons of the show aired on The CW . After a two-year break, the program returned changed on the BET channel . The series is a spin-off of the sitcom Girlfriends . In April 2006, Girlfriends aired the episode The Game , which introduced the new main characters of the series and acted as a backdoor pilot . The broadcast of the ninth and final season ended on August 5, 2015.

Melanie Barnett is a medical student with good prospects. But instead of concentrating on her career, she follows her boyfriend Durwin to San Diego when he gets a professional contract with the "San Diego Sabers". There she met the wives and friends of Derwin's teammates - an illustrious group.
