The Phantom Blues Band is an American blues band best known for their collaboration with Taj Mahal . She accompanied him on tours and was the backing band for various recordings of albums, including Shoutin 'in Keys and Senior Blues ( Grammy ). In 2001 they received the WC Handy Award for best band of the year.

After extensive touring and studio work, the Phantom Blues Band released their first own CD 'Limited Edition' in 2003, which was followed by 'Out of the Shadows' and 'Footprints'.

In addition to their work together as a band, the members of the Phantom Blues Band are also successful session musicians , producers and arrangers .
