The Philharmonics are seven musicians from the ranks of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic . Her repertoire ranges from classical to gypsy , klezmer and Latin jazz .

history

The ensemble was founded in 2007 during a guest performance by the Vienna Philharmonic in Japan. Her concerts and live performances are characterized by the amalgamation of different styles. The Philharmonics not only feel at home in classical and Viennese music, but also combine them with elements of gypsy music, Balkan folk music, klezmer, Latin jazz and tango .

The Philharmonics was also able to inspire the critics of the feature pages at the numerous appearances:

“A community of musicians who, between Brahms, Johann Strauss, Chick Corea and American film music, have mastered all varieties in the border area between“ E ”and“ U ”with virtuosity. It is breathtaking how the double bass player Ödön Racz completes the “Bumblebee Flight” in a world record-breaking tempo, sparkling how gypsy-inspired sounds sound, from “ Knight Pásmán ” -Csardas to “Hungarian Dances” to Ravel's “Tzigane”, which already in the title derives from its musical roots announces. "

The Austrian daily Die Presse praises her virtuoso playing.
