The SmashUp is a New York post-hardcore or punk rock band founded in 2001 .

history

In 2004 their first EP was released, called The Smashup and produced by themselves (Watt: “ We weren't happy with working with past producers and I think we did a pretty good job of it ourselves. ”). In 2005 her debut album Being and Becoming came out, which was produced under Warcon Enterprise . Her second album Untreatable was released in the UK that same year . Untreatable was released under Mighty Atom Records . Since signing with WARCON Enterprise , they have played side by side with great musicians such as Coheed and Cambria , Eighteen Visions and The Used . In 2006 the band played with Megadeth and Lamb of God on the Gigantour 2006 and on the Vans Warped Tour in the same year. The SmashUp has also played with Deftones , Thrice , Underoath , As I Lay Dying , Thursday , Atreyu , Funeral for a Friend and Story of the Year . 5 years after the release of their second album, The Sea and the Serpents Beneath was their third studio album, which was released under Eulogy Recordings . In Europe the album will be distributed through Glasstone Records .

Before joining The Smashup, bassist Jaffe played with Save Our Souls , then called Chiba-Ken. He also worked there as a graphic designer and designed merchandising motifs and layouts for the albums Faces of the Moment and Are We Innocent? .
