The Writing's on the Wall is the second studio album of American R & B - girl group Destiny's Child . It was released in July 1999 on their record label Columbia Records .

The album, the last in the original line-up, was released. a. Produced by Missy Elliott , Kevin Briggs , Rodney Jerkins and Beyoncé . Missy Elliott also had a guest appearance as did the R&B trio Next . For the first time, the group took on a bit of creative involvement, working closely with the producers. Bills, Bills, Bills and Bug a Boo were among the pieces the group wrote and produced.
Five singles were released from The Writing's on The Wall , of which Bills, Bills, Bills , Say My Name , Jumpin ', Jumpin' and Bug a Boo became number one hits.
Success and Awards
The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 album chart. For The Writing's on The Wall , Destiny's Child was nominated for six Grammys , including the categories " Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals " (twice), " Best R&B Song " (twice) and " Record of the Year " as well as " Song of the Year ". The album went eight-way platinum through the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on November 6, 2001 . It has been sold over twelve million times.
