Emergence

Even before the band had even started songwriting , the album title was fixed. It's a concept album , the lyrics of which revolve around heaven and hell . The musicians incorporated elements from electronic music , and the guest singers included the Canadian pop singer Lights . In March 2010, she went to Studio Fredman , near Gothenburg to begin recording, producer was Fredrik Nordström . During this time the band exchanged emails with their guest singers . The KC Blitz DJ team was responsible for the electronic parts of the music . The vocal recordings for six tracks had to be done in July 2010 in Los Angeles within three days because the band could not finish them in the studio in Gothenburg due to the complexity of the arrangements .

Reviews

Allmusic's Gregory Heaney writes that the band's hard work paid off with the third album. Despite the electronic influences, it lives from the intensity with which Bring Me the Horizon combines hardcore punk and technical heavy metal . The online magazine metal.de calls the album an “atmospheric voyage of discovery”, over whose “Metalcore-heavy and sometimes heavily grooving framework” the authentic screeching vocals of Oliver Sykes are enthroned.
