The Thiele is a 7.2 km long, left or northwestern tributary of the Aar in Bad Arolsen in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district , Hesse ( Germany ).
Course and catchment area
The Thiele rises near the borders of Bad Arolsen to the west in the municipality Diemelsee , for some community further south located Twistetal and north-west in neighboring Hochsauerlandkreis ( Nordrhein-Westfalen located) City Marsberg . Its source is in the Waldecker Forest between the village of Massenhausen ( near Bad Arolsen) in the northeast and the woodless Massenhauser Höhe ( 432.5 m above sea level ) in the west southwest. It is located in a grove in an agricultural area a few hundred meters south-southeast of the Höhenhof estate at around 390 m above sea level. NN .
Initially, the Thiele flows northeast to Massenhausen, which it touches south. It then runs south-east through a valley lined with forests to the north, in which it feeds a pond north of the Mengeringhausen glider airfield and is bridged in the Bad Arolsen – Korbach section by the Warburg – Sarnau railway and the 252 federal road . The stream then flows south past the core town of Bad Arolsen, passing through the Mengeringhäuser Feld industrial area to the northeast of the Mengeringhausen district .
Shortly afterwards the Thiele flows out to about 245 m above sea level. NN into the Twiste tributary Aar .
The catchment area of the Thiele covers 8,664 km².
