Thomas Schinko (born May 8, 1969 in Landshut ) is a former German ice hockey player who worked for the Berlin Capitals , Eisbären Berlin , Düsseldorfer EG , Kölner Haie , Nürnberg Ice Tigers and ERC Ingolstadt in his active time from 1987 to 2007 of the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Thomas Schinko began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth team of EV Landshut , for whose professional team he was active in the Bundesliga from 1987 to 1991 . The attacker then switched to their league rivals, the Berlin Capitals , for whom he was on the ice for the next eight years - from 1994 in the newly founded DEL . After two seasons with the Eisbären Berlin , the left shooter moved to the newly promoted Düsseldorfer EG in 2000 , which he left after just one year to play for their Rhenish rival Kölner Haie , with whom he became German champion in the 2001/02 season . The winger then played for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers and ERC Ingolstadt in the DEL for a year before ending his career at his former club from Landshut, for which he was active in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2004 to 2007 .

In the 2010/11 season Schinko took over the school team of EV Landshut as coach. From 2012 he was part of the extended coaching staff of the Nürnberg Ice Tigers, but also worked as a physiotherapist for the team. In 2019 he was promoted to assistant coach.

International

For Germany Schinko took part in the 1994 World Cup, where he finished ninth with his team.
