Daniel Fischbuch (born August 19, 1993 in Bad Friedrichshall ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Düsseldorfer EG in the German Ice Hockey League since 2020 . His older brother Dennis is also a hockey player.

Career

Daniel Fischbuch began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth division of the Heilbronner Falken , from which he moved to the Bietigheim Steelers in the 2006/07 season. In the following year he remained active in the student league with the Mannheim ERC . In the 2008/09 season, the winger played in parallel for Jungadler Mannheim in the German youth league , as well as for the Red Devils Bad Nauheim in the youth league. He then joined the Düsseldorfer EG , for which he ran from 2009 to 2011 in the DNL. In the 2009/10 season he also made his first senior appearances for the DEG second team in the fourth-class regional league . The following season he also spent as a loan player with the Ratinger Ice Aliens from the third-class league .

For the 2011/12 season Fischbuch moved to the upper division EV Duisburg , where he became a regular player. With a sponsorship license , however, he continued to play for the DNL team of the Düsseldorfer EG and for the first time for their professional team in the German Ice Hockey League . In the 2012/13 season he was still on the ice with a production license for Duisburg in the major league and for Düsseldorf in DEL and DNL. From the 2013/14 season he played exclusively for DEG and established himself as a regular player.

In April 2016, Düsseldorf's DEL competitor Eisbären Berlin announced its commitment. In his first season for the capital club, he was able to improve his personal DEL points record with 25 points. With the Eisbären he reached the play-off finals in the following season , in which Fischbuch scored the important fourth goal in a 5-3 win in Game 6 against EHC Red Bull Munich to make it into the decisive final game. After the 2018/19 season , the Berliners stopped planning with him and Fischbuch moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers for the 2019/20 season . In his first season with Middle Franconia , he was able to almost double his previous personal season record with 48 points scorer (19 goals and 29 assists), making him one of the top 10 scorers in the entire league and the best point player in his club. In this season that was so successful for him, he managed his first hat trick on matchday 48 (February 23, 2020) in the game against the Eisbären Berlin . He returned to DEG immediately after the 2019/20 season - also for family reasons.

International

For Germany , Fischbuch took part in the 2011 U18 World Junior Championship . After his good start to the 2019/20 DEL season with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers, he was appointed to the men's national team for the Germany Cup for the first time in November 2019 . He scored his first goal for the DEB selection in the game against Switzerland .
