Oliver Mebus (born March 30, 1993 in Dormagen ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League since 2016 .

Career

Mebus was born in Dormagen. As a youth he played for the Cologne EC and switched to the youth of the Krefeld EV in 2010 , he also took part in the training of the Krefeld Penguins . In 2012 he accepted an offer from the Kölner Haie , but was not used in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), but was loaned to the upper division Füchse Duisburg .

In 2013 Mebus returned to Krefeld and signed a professional contract with the Penguins. In his three years with the Krefeld team, Mebus was on the ice in 152 DEL games. In July 2016 he was signed by the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .

International

Mebus represented Germany in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championship 2011 and the U20 World Junior Championship 2013 . In spring 2015 Mebus was appointed to the German senior national team for the first time . The defender played his first major international tournament at the 2018 World Cup in Denmark .
