Tim Bender (born March 19, 1995 in Mannheim ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League since 2018 in the position of defender .

Career

Bender first went through the youth teams of the Mannheim ERC, based in his hometown . With his U18 youth team, the “Jungadlern Mannheim”, he won the German Junior League (DNL) championship twice in two of the three seasons he played ( 2011/12 and 2012/13 ) .

For the 2013/14 season, Bender was signed by EHC Red Bull Munich from the German Ice Hockey League , for which he played eleven competitive games. At the end of October 2013, Bender received the approval from the club to move to Canada in the Ontario Hockey League to the London Knights in order to be better promoted.

Bender has been back in the EHC Red Bull Munich squad since the 2014/15 season, for which he played 25 main round games that same season and contributed four assists. Bender, who was equipped with a sponsorship license , played a further 21 competitive games at SC Riessersee in the DEL2 . With the main round, Red Bull Munich, Bender was eliminated in the playoff quarter-finals against Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg .

For the 2018/19 season, Bender moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .

National team

In March 2018 he was appointed to the German national ice hockey team for the first time by national coach Marco Sturm .
