Manuel Kofler (* 13. April 1980 in Kolbermoor , Upper Bavaria ) is an ice hockey coach former German hockey player, the seven seasons in the German Ice Hockey League spent.

Career

Kofler began his career at Sportbund Rosenheim and moved to the regional league for EHC Klostersee at the age of 18 . Just one year later, the winger was signed by the Iserlohn Roosters , with whom he celebrated promotion from the 2nd Bundesliga to the DEL in the 1999/2000 season . There he played one more season for the Sauerland before he moved to the Munich Barons in the 2001/02 season. After they moved to Hamburg , he played for the Freezers for a year and signed a contract with the Augsburger Panthern (AEV) in 2003 .

His move to the AEV was not a good star at first, as he suffered an ankle injury while climbing during the summer break and was therefore unable to do the entire preparation. He still managed to play his way into the team and ultimately made 31 missions and at least 12 scorer points. In the two following years he was able to play almost all of the seasons and achieved better values than in his first year in Augsburg. Among other things, Kofler was known for his very physical style of play. For the 2007/08 season he left the Augsburg Panthers and moved to the Starbulls Rosenheim . In December 2007, Kofler had to end his career due to serious injuries.

He went through all junior national teams of the DEB and brought it to 11 appearances in the senior national team, whereby he was denied a World Cup participation.

In June 2012, Kofler, who passed a coaching test in 2008, became a junior coach at EHC Bad Aibling near his home in Kolbermoor. From the 2013/2014 season, Kofler worked for four seasons as a full-time trainer for three youth teams and the senior team of the Aibdogs , which plays in the South / West regional league. In his first two years as head coach, the team ended up at the top of the table.

For the 2017/18 league season , Kofler took over the Starbulls Rosenheim team as head coach and regularly achieved victory rates of over 60 percent with the Starbulls. For the 2019/20 season, Kofler became assistant trainer for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers from the DEL.
