Thor Freudenthal

Thor Freudenthal (born October 20, 1972 in Berlin ) is a German screenwriter and film director who works mainly in Hollywood .

Life

Thor Freudenthal was born in Berlin, where he also grew up. He attended the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and later moved to California as an exchange student at the California Institute of the Arts .

Freudenthal started out in the film industry as a screenwriter and director for short films such as Mind the Gap , Monkey Business and The Tenor . At Sony Pictures Imageworks , he worked on the films Stuart Little , The Chubbchubbs! and Stuart Little 2 with. He later served as the director of the second unit at Disney for The Haunted Mansion . In 2005 he directed the short film Motel . In 2009 he worked as a director at Das Hundehotel for DreamWorks Pictures . In 2010 he directed the youth film Greg's Diary - Surrounded by Idiots! based on the book series by Jeff Kinney . In August 2013, the sequel to the film Percy Jackson - Thieves in Olympus with the title Percy Jackson - Im Bann des Cyclopen was released, directed by Freudenthal.
