Thurnerschlag is a place in Mühlviertel Upper Austria as well as the village of the municipality Helfenberg in Rohrbach District . Until the end of 2018, parts of it belonged to the dissolved municipality of Ahorn .

geography

The place is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Linz , 25½ kilometers west of Freistadt , between Rohrbach and Bad Leonfelden , 13 kilometers from the first and 10 kilometers from the second.

Thurnerschlag is located in the southern Bohemian Forest foothills between the Schallenwald in the south and the Zölsenberg  ( 765  m above sea level ) in the north.

The place Helfenberg is 1 km northwest, Ahorn 2 km southeast. Schallenwald – Zölsenberg form the ridge between Steinerner Mühl near Helfenberg and Altenschläger Bach to the east. The former flows first south-west and later north-west towards the Große Mühl , the latter from the Traberg pass landscape at Ahorn first northwards, the valley then runs eastwards via Vorderweißbach towards Bad Leonfelden.

The place stretches for a good 1 km and has almost 40 buildings with 119 inhabitants (2018).

The Rotte and village of Thurnerschlag is around 700  m above sea level. A. Height along the municipal road that leads from Helfenberg to L1492  Schallenbergstraße (Helfenberg - Ahorn and further) near Piberstein Castle , right in the ditch above the small Helfenbergbach (to the Steinernen Mühl near Helfenberg). It comprises around 25 buildings with 94 inhabitants (2018).

The Rotte, which belonged to the municipality of Ahorn until the end of 2018, has since also belonged to the village of Thurnerschlag and is located south of it at around 760  m above sea level. A. on the Gemeindestraße, which runs from the L1492 on the other side of the ruin via Geierschlag to the L1491  Vorderweißbacher Straße . It comprises a good ten buildings with 25 residents (2018). Houses in the Helfenberg town of Altenschlag are directly connected to this.

There is no direct road connection between the two districts themselves.
