Titular diocese of Abydus

Abydus ( Italian : Abido ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to a submerged bishopric in the ancient city of Abydos , which was in the Roman province of Asia or Hellespontus on the Asian side of the Dardanelles . The bishopric was assigned to the church province Cyzicus .
