Toa Airways ( Tōa Kōkū , Japanese 東 亜 航空 ), also TAW in the brand identity , was a Japanese domestic airline founded on November 26, 1953 . The airline mainly flew the Japanese NAMC YS-11 aircraft . On May 15, 1971 , it merged with Japan Domestic Airlines ( Nihon Kokunai Kōkū ) to Toa Domestic Airlines ( Tōa Kokunai Kōkū ).
Incidents
Toa Airways recorded one incident in its history:
- On February 23, 1962, a De Havilland Heron DH.114 Heron 1B ( registration JA6158) had an accident on Mount Ohira on the island of Tsushima , killing the three-man crew on board the aircraft.
