Nippon Cargo Airlines ( Japanese 日本 貨物 航空 株式会社 , Nippon Kamotsu Kōkū Kabushiki-gaisha , NCA for short ) is a Japanese cargo airline based in Tokyo and based at Tokyo Narita Airport .
history
Nippon Cargo Airlines was founded on September 21, 1978 and began operating as the first Japanese cargo airline in 1978. It was a joint venture between shipping companies (especially Nippon Yūsen ) and All Nippon Airways . For this reason, the paintwork of the aircraft at that time was adapted to that of the ANA. In July 2005, ANA sold all remaining shares in Nippon Yusen.
At the beginning of 2008, NCA retired the last five Boeing 747-200Fs from the fleet. As part of the fleet of the new Boeing 747-8F from 2012, NCA also introduced a new color scheme for its aircraft. The last Boeing 747-400F was decommissioned in October 2018 .
Today, Global Logistics Investments (55.18%), Nippon Yūsen (13.8%), Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (13.19%), Nippon Express (3.13%) and other investors (14.7%) are in NCA involved.
