Tom Aldredge
Thomas Ernest "Tom" Aldredge (born February 28, 1928 in Dayton , Ohio , † July 22, 2011 in Tampa , Florida ) was an American actor .
Life
Tom Aldredge was born and raised in Dayton as the son of Lucienne Juliet (nee Marcillat) and the officer in the United States Army WJ Aldredge. Since 1963 he worked as a film actor, but also took part in television series. In 1978 he received an Emmy Award for his participation in Henry Winkler meets Shakespeare . On Broadway he appeared in nearly thirty stage productions and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1972, 1975, 1981, 1994 and 2004 .
Aldredge had been married to costume designer Theoni V. Aldredge (1932–2011) since 1953 . He died of lymph gland cancer in a Tampa , Florida hospice at the age of 83 .
