The Tosmar or Tosmarberg is one to 327.5  m above sea level. NHN high ridge of the Hildesheim forest . It is located between Detfurth and Diekholzen in the Hildesheim district in Lower Saxony .

The Tosmar rises in the east of the Hildesheim forest. It is located between the Bad Salzdetfurth districts of Detfurth in the east-southeast and Groß Düngen in the northeast, the Diekholzen districts of Röderhof and Söhre on the northern roof, Egenstedt in the north and Barienrode and the Sibbess district of Petze in the south, beyond the main ridge of the Hildesheim forest .

The Gehlenbach Lamme tributary, which flows eastward, and the Kalte Beuster, which initially runs westward, arise south of the ridge as the right source brook of the Beuster . The Lamme flows in the northeast into the Innerste flowing north of the ridge , into which the Beuster flows in the north.

Natural allocation

Tosmar belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Weser-Leine-Bergland (No. 37), the main unit Innerstebergland (379) and the sub-unit Hildesheimer Bergland (379.0) to the natural area Hildesheimer Wald (379.01). The landscape falls to the north into the natural area of Marienburger Hügelland (379.03).

Protected areas

Parts of the Hildesheimer Wald bird sanctuary (VSG no. 3825-401; 12.47  km² ) lie on the southern slope of the central part of Tosmart . To the east of the ridge is the protected landscape area Röderhofer Teiche and Egenstedter Forst ( CDDA -Nr. 323914; 1967 designated; 3,201 km²). The fauna-flora-habitat area Kammmolch-Biotop Röderhofer Teiche (FFH No. 3925-332; 79.31  ha ) is located on its northern slope . The FFH area Beuster (with NSG “Am Roten Steine”) (FFH No. 3825-331; 87.71 ha) extends along the south, west and north-west foot of the ridge.
