The river at Plaisance-du-Touch

The Touch is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region . It rises near the plateau of Lannemezan in the municipality of Lilhac , generally drains in a north-easterly direction and after 75 kilometers flows into the Garonne as a left tributary on the north-western outskirts of Toulouse .

Since it carries little water in dry periods, the water level is artificially regulated - as in most rivers on the Lannemezan plateau; in his case, through some reservoirs on the river and the Canal de Saint-Martory irrigation canal that joins the Touch in Tournefeuille .
