The 7th Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under took place from January 18-23, 2005. The bike race was held in six stages over a distance of 638 kilometers.
As traditionally in previous years, the Tour Down Under was the first high-profile race of the 2005 season. It is part of the UCI Oceania Tour 2005 and is classified in the UCI category 2.HC. The race ended on a criterion on the Adelaide City Council Circuit.
