Trčkov (German Trtschkadorf ) is a basic settlement unit of the municipality Orlické Záhoří in Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Czech Republic . The border with Poland runs in the immediate vicinity in the northeast .

location

Trčkov lies between the main ridge of the Eagle Mountains and the Habelschwerdter Mountains on the right bank of the upper Wilder Adler ( Erlitztal ). It is reached via a spur road that branches off the state road 311 at Bedřichovka and ends after two kilometers in Trčkov. The 1,115 m high Velká Deštná ( Great Deschneyer Koppe ) rises southwest of Trčkov .

Neighboring towns are Bedřichovka and Zelenka in the southeast and Zákouti ( Hinterwinkel ) in the southwest. On the other side of the border, towards the north-west and Lasówka, lie in the south-east.

history

Trtschkadorf belonged to the Königgrätzer Kreis and was first mentioned in writing in 1654. It was created by the Opočno landlords Trčka von Lípa , to whom the place name refers. Because of the numerous glassworks in this wooded area, Trschkadorf was predominantly settled with forest workers, ash burners and charcoal burners.

Since 1750 Trtschkadorf was an independent municipality and belonged to the district administration Senftenberg . It was dedicated to the parish church in Kronstadt . In 1913 there were 527 German residents and one Czech resident. The children from Trtschkadorf attended the school in Friedrichswald, where a Czech minority school was established after the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1919. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Trtschkadorf was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Grulich district until 1945 . For 1939 there are 372 inhabitants who lived in 86 houses. After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled . The abandoned houses were burned down by partisans or fell into disrepair over time. Today there are only a few houses and rubble from previous buildings in the Trčkov area. A wooden cross reminds of the village.

In 1982 the Trčkov nature reserve was established in the forest area.
