history

Folk architecture in Jadrná

Kerndorf was laid out at the end of the 16th century and first mentioned in 1603. It belonged to the Königgrätzer Kreis and was parish first to Himmlisch Riebnai and later to Kronstadt . A glassworks was operated in Kerndorf in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Since 1750 Kerndorf belonged to the district administration Senftenberg . Before 1918 the children of Kerndorf attended a four-class elementary school in Kronstadt, which continued to run in three classes after the establishment of Czechoslovakia and presumably formed a school class for the Czech minority. In 1939, 506 people lived in 123 houses in Kerndorf. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Kernstadt was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Grulich district until 1945 . After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled . Jadrná and the surrounding villages remained largely evacuated, leaving many houses to decay. In 1960 Jadrná was incorporated into the newly formed municipality Orlické Záhoří .

Numerous houses are used as holiday homes and show the folk architecture of the Eagle Mountains.
