Trousdale Estates

Trousdale Estates is an exclusive housing development in northeast Beverly Hills , California . It comprises 535 properties on an area of ​​165 hectares , the luxury villas of which were built by well-known architects and are inhabited by numerous well-known personalities, mainly from the film industry.

Location and main roads

Trousdale Estates begin immediately north of Doheny Road, the western extension of the Sunset Strip . The Loma Vista Drive and the North Hillcrest Road cross the Doheny Road and run thence in a northerly direction through the "Estates". They are the most important and longest streets in the neighborhood , along with Carla Ridge , which runs just within Trousdale Estates. The end of the Loma Vista Drive and the Carla Ridge mark the northwest and northeast limits of the Trousdale Estates. To the north of the "Estates", Mulholland Drive runs on the edge of Fryman Canyon Park, to the west of Coldwater Canyon Drive on the edge of Franklin Canyon and to the east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The Bird Streets residential area is in the immediate vicinity .

history

Greystone Mansion (2007)

The area that is now Trousdale Estates was once the farmland of Doheny Ranch, whose main house, the Greystone Mansion, is still the largest residential building in Beverly Hills. It is located in what is now Greystone Park, which is immediately southwest of Trousdale Estates.

The entire country once belonged to Edward L. Doheny Junior (1893–1929), the son of oil magnate Edward L. Doheny (1856–1935). His widow Lucy Smith Doheny Battson (1893–1993) sold the site in 1954 to the developer Paul Trousdale, who developed today's "Estates" as an exclusive residential area. A year later, she also sold the Greystone Mansion.
