The fourth season of the US sitcom Two and a Half Men celebrated its premiere on 18 September 2006 on the transmitter CBS . The German-language premiere broadcast of the German Free TV transmitter ProSieben of 15 December 2007 to 23 February, 2008.

In German-speaking countries, the first season was broadcast under the title " My cooler Onkel Charlie " . From the second season the original American title was used and the German title was added as an addition: Two and a Half Men - Mein cooler Unkel Charlie .

After the wedding, Alan, Kandi and Charlie go to a casino. There Alan plays on a slot machine and wins the jackpot of $ 500,000.00. That's why he can afford to move out with Kandi. After four months, Alan comes back to the beach house and tells Charlie that Kandi kicked him out and that he still has $ 11 left from the winnings. Charlie is less than enthusiastic about it because he thinks everything was better when Alan was gone. Berta also lets it be known that she, friends and acquaintances have made a bet about when Alan's marriage will break up. Judith wins and explains to Alan that he has to continue paying child support despite the divorce from Kandi. Alan still can't buy his own apartment and, much to his displeasure, stays with Charlie.

Alan annoys Charlie by repeatedly telling him that letting Mia go is the biggest mistake he has ever made. Charlie gets it too much and he makes it clear to Alan that he only broke up with Mia because she wanted Alan to move out. He then tries to make up for his guilt by making Charlie dinner and giving him a somewhat ridiculous hat. Meanwhile, Steven Tyler has moved into the neighboring house and rehearses non-stop. Charlie is annoyed by this and after a few provocations he finds himself in a fight with Tyler, which Tyler clearly wins. Charlie forgives Alan and admits that he only used Alan as an excuse not to have to get married.

Charlie tries surfing to impress a girl. He falls off the board on the first wave and almost drowns. After being rescued by a lifeguard, he tells Alan that he saw her late father's head underwater. He said: 'Take care of your mother'. Charlie tries it and invites Evelyn to dinner and brings her home from the hospital after plastic surgery. There he takes care of her, which he doesn't like very much. Through a television program, he realized that 'taking care of yourself' could also be meant differently. Because Evelyn is still in his house, Charlie even goes to have coffee with the lifeguard.

Jake doesn't want to see Herb as his new father and runs away from Judith. He comes to Charlie and Alan, who take him back to Judith, but first bribe him to pretend to like Herb. Charlie and Alan take Herb with them without Judith's knowledge and have some sort of bachelorette party. When Herb falls asleep drunk, Charlie and Alan eventually bring him back to Judith.

Charlie has a new girlfriend named Lydia. She is a real estate agent, bossy and always has a hurtful comment on her lips. Berta, Alan and Jake quickly realize that she is the exact opposite of Evelyn, because she even has two sons, of whom she thinks the older one has a chance and the younger one will lose in life, and so does she dresses like Evelyn. Charlie realizes that over time, but doesn't end the relationship.

So Charlie and Berta go to the supposed father of the child and lighten him a little unconventionally by $ 4000. Jake makes a deal with Charlie that Charlie won't go out with Taylor's mother and that Jake will clean his car every day for a month. After just one day, Charlie goes on a date with Taylor's mother and Jake finds out because Taylor sends him photos. Jake takes revenge by putting a bucket of green goo slime on Charlie's door edge. When Charlie, covered in slime, runs angrily along the beach in search of Jake and dogs are harassed on him, Alan feels justice and can sleep again.

On a double date, he claims to have to go to the bathroom to avoid paying his share. Because Charlie is getting tired of it, he follows Alan to the bathroom and does everything at the same snail's pace as Alan. In total, they waste half an hour on the toilet. When they return to the dining room, their dates are gone. While on the date, Jake watches a horror movie with Rose. When Charlie and Alan return, Charlie finds, while Alan is hiding in the bathroom, a roll of money with $ 5000 in small bills in his room. The next day, Alan explains to Charlie that he has saved the money so that he can live in old age without support. At first Charlie wants Alan to spend all of the money, but he lets him keep saving so that he can eventually move into his own apartment.

Lydia also gives Berta her laundry to wash, which Berta doesn't like at all. At first Charlie tries to wash Lydia's clothes himself, but Berta and Lydia soon force him to make up his mind. At first he lies to both of them; but his lie is soon discovered and he chooses Berta. To make sure she stays, Charlie visits a self-help group.

Charlie wants to have a second date with Gloria for Christmas. Alan wants to go to the cinema, and Jake is picked up by Herb and Judith. Because they are celebrating at Herbs parents, Judith wants to stay a little longer to drink eggnog. When Kandi shows up and Herb admires her breasts and examines them in the neck and chest area, Judith suddenly wants to leave, but Herb cannot persuade her to do so. Finally, Rose, Evelyn and Gloria appear. Gloria is already drunk and, after a brief chat with Evelyn, goes to his bedroom with Charlie. While Jake gets drunk on eggnog, Evelyn calls Gloria's mother. She explains to Charlie and Gloria that they cannot sleep together because they may be siblings. Gloria doesn't care, but Charlie finds his first limit in sexuality and leaves. In order not to lose Herb to Kandi, Judith sleeps with him, and to get revenge on Evelyn, Gloria's mother sleeps with Alan.

Alan goes out with Berta's daughter Naomi. At first Berta is upset that her daughter is gone every night, but when she learns that Alan is the man, she is delighted. She is nice and kind to Alan, preparing food for him and looking after him. She finally invites the Harpers to a family dinner together. There is a bit of quarreling at the beginning, but most of them get along again straight away. In the middle of the meal, the father of Naomi's child appears and reunites with Naomi. Berta is on it as always.

It finally occurs to him that as a child he saw his mother in bed with a man. When he wants to talk to Evelyn about it, she doesn't open the door. So Charlie climbs up the house and sees Evelyn again in bed with a strange man. He comes back to Malibu and tries to suppress this memory immediately. In this episode, Rose can be heard speaking a sentence in German in the English version.

Charlie and Alan have a new neighbor, Danielle. During a conversation, Charlie finds out that she is rich and wants to settle down again. Because of many similarities, he would like to leave them to Alan so that they will eventually marry and Alan move out. Alan is rather clumsy with Danielle, so Charlie has to support him. When Danielle visits the Harpers for a date with Alan, Charlie starts talking to her and he discovers that she is really like him: she drinks a lot, is promiscuous and wasteful. So Charlie wants to end up with her too. Danielle catches this and suggests a threesome to Charlie and Alan as the only way out. You don't get involved.

Meanwhile, Alan is exaggerating his online dating profile by claiming he is the celebrity chiropractor and that he owns the Malibu beach house.

After some time without contact, the brothers decide to visit their mother on her birthday. When they get there, they are very surprised that Evelyn has friends visiting. Alan and Charlie, despite their dislike of their mother, feel ousted by the gay couple and their adopted son. Both secretly try to build a better relationship with Evelyn. Alan even suggests that they take a family picture. To his surprise, Evelyn also brings Roger, Philip and Changpu with her to this appointment.

Alan thinks again about him and Kandi and about their upcoming divorce. It is revealed that the reason for Alan's and Kandi's separation was Kandi's unsupported wish to have a baby. Alan explains to Kandi that he changed his mind because Jake is growing up and he would like to continue being the father of a child. Just before they can get back together in bed, Kandi is informed that she has been given the role of forensic scientist. That's why she's getting a divorce from Alan.

After the performance, Myra and Charlie kiss, which makes Judith even angrier. To avoid this, Myra moves in with Charlie until the wedding, where she starts an affair with him.

While Charlie walks to the altar with Myra and learns that Myra is engaged, Herb's ex-girlfriend gives all of the wedding guests the impression that she is sleeping with Alan. The only one who can make good out of the situation is Jake, who takes food home.

In the end, neither of them is gay.

When Charlie realizes that Fernando is just a younger version of him, he tries to act younger again and visits Chloe in a different outfit. Since she has just slept with Fernando, he is fired and works at Berta's home instead. Charlie and Chloe stay together because he can use his money to buy her jewelry.

Evelyn has a new boyfriend, Teddy. He secretly flies to Las Vegas with Charlie and Alan to watch a fight. He also pays for ice cream (Alan) and prostitutes (Charlie and Alan). Therefore, both Charlie and Alan cannot object to Teddy’s planned engagement with Evelyn. However, they later find out that Evelyn does not want to settle down yet and already has a new lover. When he dies abruptly, Evelyn takes Teddy back.

The fourth season DVD was released in the United States on September 23, 2008. The fourth season DVD has been available in Germany since September 19, 2008.
