Marin Elizabeth Hinkle (born March 23, 1966 in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania ) is an American actress .

Acting career

Marin Hinkle made her television debut in the US soap opera Another World . She celebrates her breakthrough with the series Once again with feeling , which was broadcast from 1999 to 2002. In the following years she had guest appearances on popular American television programs such as B. Law & Order , Without a Trace - Disappeared without a trace , Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme , Chaos City and Dr. House . She also had a few small film roles, including in I'm Not Rappaport , Dark Blue and I'm Sam .

From 2003 to 2015 she starred in the US sitcom Two and a Half Men as Judith Harper , the ex-wife of Alan ( Jon Cryer ), and from 2016 to 2019 she had a recurring role as the school principal in Speechless .

She has appeared in the series Madam Secretary since 2014 . Since 2017 she can be seen in the series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Rose Weissman in a leading role. Her acting performance earned her an Emmy nomination in 2019 .

Private

Hinkle is the daughter of Margaret R. (Polga) Hinkle, a judge at the Superior Court of Massachusetts , and a university dean .

Hinkle studied at both Brown University and NYU Tisch School . She has been married since 1998. She has a child with her husband.
