The second season of the US sitcom Two and a Half Men celebrated its premiere on 20 September 2004 on the transmitter CBS . The German-language premiere sent the German Free TV transmitter ProSieben and ORF one in the period of March 11 to June 18 of 2006.

In German-speaking countries, the first season was broadcast under the title Mein cooler Unkel Charlie . From the second season the original American title was used and the German title was added as an addition: Two and a Half Men - Mein cooler Unkel Charlie .

He mentions that he never liked Alan, but always viewed Alan as a burden. Alan decides to invite friends himself, but this fails miserably because they are all invited to Judith's. Alan wants Charlie's self-help group with him, but his manner disturbs everyone, so that he is left tied to a lamppost as if he were a child.

Judith meets with Jake's pediatrician Herb Melnick. When Alan finds out, he is angry at first, but then realizes that if Herb and Judith got married, he would never have to pay child support again. So he decides to promote the relationship by giving Herb inside information about Judith. Meanwhile, Evelyn comes to visit Charlie. She keeps asking him why he hates her, and when Berta arrives, she too is appalled that Charlie, for example, doesn't know when Evelyn's birthday is.

Because Miss Pasternak wants to stay with him forever, Charlie finally flees from her and she becomes the way she was before.

Judith has a new friend named Greg (only Greg in this episode, always Herb), whom Jake is very fond of. He owns a boat, a pool, and so on, and he plans to teach Jake snorkeling and scuba diving, among other things. Since Alan can't offer anything 'cool' by comparison, he lets Jake drive Evelyn's car, as she is currently renting Charlie's Mercedes for a house sale. After Evelyn returns the car, Charlie finds a bra in the back seat. He concludes that it must belong to his mother and tells Alan, who is shocked about it. In fact, Evelyn comes to Charlie to pick up her bra, and she confesses that she had sex with another agent in the Mercedes. That's why Charlie swaps his car and comforts Jake, who is depressed because his mother has separated from Greg. When they come back, they see Alan making out with Judith, but nothing works because of the interruption.

Charlie has a new girlfriend named Sherri, who is just like him: She prefers to wake up alone in her own bed, definitely in the relationship and always says after sex that she has to get up early the next day so Charlie can go home. After she hasn't called back for a week, Charlie decides to break it up, which he succeeds after several attempts when he turns the game around just before sex and claims he has to get up early the next day. Sherri understands the allusion and that ends the relationship. After that, Rose confesses her love to Charlie again and again.

Alan once stole plasticine as a child. He thinks he really stole it, but his mentality couldn't cope with it and so he pushed it aside. In reality, Charlie smuggled the dough into his pocket so that if he is caught, he would get into trouble. Because Alan doesn't know that, he lives in fear of the 'bad Alan', in fear of doing something like that again and not being able to control himself. Charlie decides to go to confession on Rose's advice; however, Alan does not want to forgive him. There is only reconciliation when Evelyn shows up and offers Alan and Jake to live with them.

They only reconcile at the party when Daisy sings and Charlie accompanies them on the piano - so nobody pays attention to Evelyn.

After a week, Alan would like to propose to her; But it doesn't come to them because she calls and Alan says that her husband has come home.

After a night together they split up again because, according to Lisa, Charlie cannot take responsibility.

Alan denies his relationship with Rose but goes shopping with her.

Charlie finds a website about himself where women speak ill of him. Because he recognizes and disregards women in bars because of the website, he wants to find out who put them online. He also apologizes to various women who then sleep with him. This leads to further complications because they find out on the website that Charlie apologized not only to them but also to other women. At the end of the episode, Charlie also apologizes to Rose, who therefore takes the website off the Internet. At the same time, Alan watches Judith on a webcam in Jake's room and overhears her telling her mother that she wants Alan back. It later becomes clear that she says this to her mother every day to please her.

She shows a lot more interest in Charlie, although he is constantly trying to make Alan stand there. When Jamie is still on a date with Alan at the beach house, Charlie comes home. She asks him to tell her that he wants her, but Alan notices and she argues with Charlie. Jamie then gets angry, which ends with her rejecting Charlie and Alan and disappearing.

But Alan is jealous because Judith goes on a date during her stay and doesn't come back until the night. That's why Alan also wants to make Judith jealous and asks Charlie to arrange a date for him. Judith storms out of the house after a few minutes of acquaintance with Camille, shortly after Alan left. At the end of the episode, Alan thanks Charlie for finding Camille for him, where it turns out she is a prostitute.

Jake learns a lot for a history exam, in which he promptly scores an A. When he returns to Malibu, Evelyn is there, destroying his newfound self-confidence. Alan forbids her to interact with Jake. After trying desperately to communicate with her sons the next day, Evelyn delivers herself to the hospital with breathing difficulties. It looks serious at first, but Charlie and Alan can tell from the doctor's diagnosis that Evelyn is simulating. To scare her, Charlie claims that she needs an operation and that she is lucky to have arrived in time. When she found out, she was completely blown away at first, but then saw through the bluff and decided to have plastic surgery instead of a bypass.

Alan is supposed to have a colonoscopy. Terrified of it, he tries hard to distract himself and decides to go to Las Vegas with Charlie and Jake. Charlie is extremely annoyed by him because of his constant excessive worry and his very long and extra-thorough packing and teaches Jake to play. When they can finally drive, Jake throws up. On the phone with his mother, he accidentally mentions the planned trip to Las Vegas, whereupon Judith comes to the beach house and confronts Charlie and Alan. The excursion falls into the water.

Because Judith is flying to Hawaii, Jake stays with Charlie and Alan for a week. Certain problems arise because Charlie and Alan are not used to Jake's daily routine. For example, Charlie has to get up in the morning to drive Jake to school, and Alan has to postpone all appointments in his practice because of Jake. In addition, Jake is forgotten twice in the evening, once by Charlie, once by Alan, and he has to stand in the rain. Just as Alan Jake promises never to forget him again, Judith is standing in front of the airport, snorting in the rain.

Charlie sprains his back while having sex with an actress. Alan wants to treat him, which Charlie vehemently refuses. That's why they're going to see Charlie's doctor. Once there, they discover that the doctor is dead, but that another doctor is continuing the practice. Upon closer inspection, she reveals that she was with Charlie during college but he left her for no reason for her friend. For this she punishes Charlie by squeezing his testicles. Back in Malibu, Charlie tells Alan that the doctor slept with him.

On this, Charlie meets Eric's attractive ex-wife Pamela. The next day, Charlie goes shopping with her and wants to prove to her in a locker room that he is straight. Meanwhile, Eric approaches Alan, who reveals this to Charlie, who in turn can get a higher salary for himself.

Everything goes wrong there because Alan has a problem with Charlie and Sherri's former relationship; In addition, he injures his second eye while walking, so that both eyes are blindfolded at the end.

Evelyn also tries to buy Harry's old house and insults the two other women in her funeral oration.

Alan buys a Porsche Boxster S with a loan from Evelyn . But he also has to do her a favor and go on a double date with her, a man and his daughter. The daughter is forbidden to drink alcohol because she has just 'ended' the addiction, but she does it anyway. Because Evelyn and the father are prevented, Alan tries to get the date for two, but fails because the daughter is completely over the moon because of her alcohol consumption. Alan leaves her asleep in his new car, but forgets to remove the key. She wakes up and is drunk driving down a freeway at far too high speed, filmed from a helicopter and shown live on the news on television. In doing so, she wrecks Alan's new car.

First they want to save Jake from Evelyn, but when a women's volleyball team arrives they completely forget about Jake. He wears down Evelyn by spitting out sushi again, doesn't like squab and instead wants spaghetti with ketchup, which is promptly spilled. When Charlie and Alan remember Jake again, they decide to save him. At the exact moment they arrive at their mother's, Jake has forgotten to turn off the bath water and Evelyn is hit by a torrent of water. Back in Malibu, Charlie notices that Jake was the first to break Evelyn.

Jake has to do an essay on My Weekend at school. This weekend, the man of Charlie's affair comes to the beach house and wants revenge on Charlie. Instead, he's glad Charlie didn't bring her to orgasm either, because he was already beginning to doubt himself. While Jake is only looking for his Gameboy, Evelyn also comes by and the woman escapes by climbing down the ivy on the house wall. While Charlie, Alan and Jake go to the movies, the husband gets close to Evelyn.

DVD release

The DVD for the second season was released on January 8, 2008 in the United States . The DVD for the second season has been available in Germany since April 13, 2007.
