As a type CII a comprehensive four vehicles series biaxial will sidecar of the streetcar Timisoara in Romania called. The standard-gauge wagons with wooden superstructures were built by the local transport company, then called Tramvaiele Comunale Timișoara (TCT).

history

As a supplement to the two type AII sidecars built in 1921 and the 14 type C sidecars built between 1922 and 1926, TCT built the four somewhat larger and more modern vehicles of the series discussed here a few years later:

1928: Car 80 and 81
1929: Cars 82 and 83

In contrast to the four-window AII and C cars - the conversions or replicas of the Weitzer railcars from 1899 - the CII already had closed platforms, although the entrances themselves were still open. They also had smooth roofs with additional skylights over the windows, while their predecessors still had lantern roofs .

The CII sidecars were used with all the two-axle railcars available at the time, i.e. with the B , D , DII , F and FII series . The design was also very similar to the F-cars built between 1925 and 1927.

Whereabouts

Cars 82 and 83 were converted to type Fa railcars just two years after their completion , in the course of which the company also combined them into a tightly coupled twin railcar . Together with the FII train 107-108, which was built at the same time, they were among the first two such teams in Timișoara, the date of commissioning is January 19, 1931. They were used in this form until 1980.

Cars 80 and 81, on the other hand, were rebuilt by the company in 1960 into a pioneer twin railcar , which was given the new numbers 155 and 156 in 1964 - that is, these two cars were also subsequently motorized.

In the end, no former CII sidecar was preserved as a railcar either; all four vehicles were scrapped.
