Ulrich Grunert

Ulrich Grunert (born June 18, 1952 in Quedlinburg , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a German music and culture journalist and author of books on culture and history.

biography

After graduating from the advanced secondary school Thomas Müntzer (today Gymnasium Stephaneum ) in Aschersleben , he studied from 1973 to 1976 at the engineering school in Roßwein . At the same time, he and his companions founded the “youth club 70” in Gatersleben , one of the first officially approved youth clubs in what was then the Halle district . From 1988 he moderated public music and film events within the entertainment series “Beat Club” and “Film Club” in Schwerin and the surrounding area, in which he performed with Werner Burkhardt , Reinhard Fißler , André Greiner-Pol , Kurt Maetzig , Fritz Rau , Rio, among others Reiser , Siegfried Schmidt-Joos , Tony Sheridan , Klaus Voormann , Horst Fascher and Peter Paul Zahl came up for discussion. From 1992 Grunert worked as a freelance music editor for the Schweriner Volkszeitung and music magazines such as eclipsed and Melodie und Rhythmus . He also worked for several years as a freelance editor for the city magazine piste and supplied the music magazine "Gaffa" founded by Christian Hentschel with texts on rock and pop. Since 2007 Grunert has published books on culture and contemporary history.
