Ulrich Weisser

Ulrich Weisser (born September 20, 1938 in Aurich , East Friesland , † April 20, 2013 in Bonn ) was a retired German vice admiral . D. and author of works on security policy.

Life

Weisser joined the German Armed Forces Navy in 1958 . From 1971 to 1973 he was trained as an admiral staff officer at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . As captain zS he was group leader 23 in the Federal Chancellery under Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt . 1979 to 1982 he was a liaison officer with the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT) . This was followed by assignments as chief of staff and deputy of the German representative in the NATO military committee in Brussels . In 1991 he was studying at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica / USA . From 1992 until his retirement on November 30, 1998, he was head of the planning staff of the Federal Minister of Defense .
