The nature reserve environment Gräfinthal is a nature reserve and Natura 2000 area in the Saarpfalz district in Saarland . In the past, the area was referred to as the hillside near Gräfinthal .

To the west of the Gräfinthal monastery is the larger slope area. The old nature reserve (since 1961) Letschenfeld is included about 200 meters south-east .

The area lies in the district of Blieshaben-Bolchen in Mandelbachtal . The entire area was declared a nature reserve on October 1, 2004 and expanded on May 26, 2016.

Flora Fauna

On the 53.3 hectare site there are dry lime lawns , calcareous debris heaps and mixed forest slopes. In the animal world you will find the scabiosa butterfly , the Bechstein's bat and the great mouse-eared bat .
