The Taubental nature reserve lies in the territory of the municipality of Kirkel , the city of Blieskastel and the city of Homburg in the Saarpfalz district in Saarland .

location

The area extends northeast, east and southeast of the core town of Kirkel. The state road L 119 and the A 6 run northwest of the area, the A 8 runs north . The Blies , a tributary of the Saar, flows to the east . Not far to the southwest runs the L 113 and - along the L 113 - extends the approximately 23 hectare Kirkeler Bachtal nature reserve .

meaning

The 426 hectare area, a core zone in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve , was placed under nature protection by ordinance of April 20, 2007 under the identification number NSG-117 . This core zone presents itself as a mixed deciduous forest on red sandstone with coniferous wood parts on the high elevations.
