The nature reserve Südlicher Bliesgau / Auf der Lohe is located in the area of ​​the town of Blieskastel and the municipality of Mandelbachtal in the Saar-Palatinate district in Saarland .

The area extends south of Ballweiler (district of Blieskastel) and northeast of Habkirchen (district of Mandelbachtal). The B 423 runs to the west and through the southern part of the area . The state road L 105 runs to the east and through the southern part. The Blies flows to the east, south and south-west . The state border with France runs along the south-eastern edge . To the west extends the 197 hectare nature reserve Muschelkalkhang near Bebelsheim and Wittersheim , to the east - on the opposite side of the Blies - the 124 hectare nature reserve between Bliesdalheim and Herbitzheim extends .

The 1575 hectare area was placed under nature protection by ordinance of March 26, 2004 under the identification number NSG-108 . It includes slopes and ridges west of the Blies.
