The nature reserve Bliesaue between Blieskastel and Bliesdalheim lies in the area of ​​the city of Blieskastel and the municipality of Gersheim in the Saarpfalz district in Saarland .

The area extends south of the core town of Blieskastel and north of Bliesdalheim , a district of Gersheim, along the Blies , a tributary of the Saar . Not far to the north runs the B 423 and on the eastern edge of the area the state road L 105. Further east run the L 103 and the state border with Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 198 hectare area was placed under nature protection by ordinance of November 2, 2015 under the identification number NSG-N-6709-302 . This replaced the nature reserve of the same name, which was already designated in 1993 with the same location but a size of 213 hectares. There is an extensive, in red sandstone and limestone scale floodplain with reedbeds , large sedge , mesotrophic wet and wet meadows / - broke and riparian forests .
