The Lindenfels nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the town of Blieskastel in the Saarpfalz district in Saarland .

location

The area extends north and north-west of the Blieskasteler community Alschbach over a length of about 3.3 km from Gut Lindenfels in a south-westerly direction to the district of Biesingen . The state road L 111 runs north of the area , in the north-west it extends to the edge of Niederwürzbach . In the south it is bounded by the Langentalergraben, a tributary of the Alschbach.

meaning

The 113 hectare nature reserve, a core zone in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve , was placed under nature protection by ordinance of March 30, 2007 under the identification number NSG-124 . This core zone presents itself as a deciduous forest on red sandstone at the transition to shell limestone with high proportions of coniferous wood .
