Liebesrausch is a German TV film by Judith Kennel from 2017. It is the 13th episode of the crime series Under other circumstances with Natalia Wörner in the lead role.

action

Commissioner Jana Winter has to deal with the case of a police officer killed during a night traffic stop. A suspicious car had not stopped on a country road, but drove towards the police officer. His colleague immediately tried to shoot the tire, but in her opinion did not achieve anything. But Jana finds the car with the Danish license plate abandoned in the forest not far from the scene of the accident. Obviously, the colleague had hit because there are traces of blood in the car. Jana Winter informs Commissariat Manager Brauner and requests a search dog. In the abandoned building of a rowing club, she finally finds a man who has apparently been slain. The dead man can be identified as Karsten Rogge from the license plate, so Jana Winter goes to Copenhagen and works there with her Danish colleague Malte Larssen. All signs suggest that the killed businessman had an affair. This lead leads to Rogge's business friend Axel Gerstätter in Schleswig . His wife admits that she had an affair with Rogge years ago, but that would be a thing of the past and mean nothing today. Nevertheless, her husband is arrested as a suspect.

Jana Winter finds out, however, that it was not Gerstätter's wife, but his fifteen-year-old daughter Caro, who had a relationship with Karsten Rogge and was most likely sitting in the car when it came into the police control. According to Caros, they were in love and wanted to go to Barcelona together. Rogge had left her behind the wheel, but since she doesn't have a driver's license, she wanted to drive past the barrier, but hadn't controlled the car and had accelerated too much. Sobered by his "love intoxication" by the accident, Rogge explained to her that he saw no future for both of them - with an age difference of 30 years. He would have called her father so that he could pick her up. But after her father arrived, she would have left the two men alone and instead called Rogge's son Jonas to pick them up.

Jonas Rogge has been secretly in love with Caro for a long time and hated his father. Not only he, but above all his mother, suffered from Rogge's antics. The investigators believe it is possible that Jonas took advantage of his father's helplessness and killed him. In the interrogation of Jonas and Caro, however, in the end she confesses that she killed Rogge out of anger and mortification.

Reviews

Harald Keller from Tittelbach.tv wrote: The film "suffers a little from plot points that are recognizable as author manipulation, but convinces with a qualitative cinematography that is not aesthetic in itself, but clarifies and comments on psychological processes."

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm also gave the best rating (thumbs up) and wrote: “Not the best episode of the reliable crime series, the resolution seems a bit too stretched, but the tension build-up is well developed. Does anyone actually know the meaning of the series title? Correct: The beginning of 2006 was written on the well-rounded body of Natalia Wörner, who was heavily pregnant at the time. "Conclusion:" Tragic: a bad case of love deception. "

At the FAZ Heike Hupertz wrote: “The incompatibility of family and feelings, of ties and the need for freedom - that is the stuff that crime is made of here. To solve the case, Jana Winter has to unravel a double family story with bitterly tender charm. He would still win if she didn't have to give her son an educational lecture every episode - this time it's about smartphones. "
