Unterauerbach is a district of the municipality of Schwarzach near Nabburg in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf ( Bavaria ).

Geographical location

Unterauerbach is located in the Upper Palatinate North region in the Auerbachtal, about two kilometers southeast of the confluence of the Auerbach into the Schwarzach . It is about three kilometers southeast of Schwarzach.

history

Beginnings until the 18th century

A heel ax from the Middle Bronze Age found in Unterauerbach in 1958 testifies to the early settlement of the Auerbach valley. It was settled by Slavs as early as the 9th century. Unterauerbach (also Urpach, Urbach, Uerbach, Nidernawerpach, Nidern Awerpach, Underaurbach, Nidern Auerbach, Undern Aurbach) was first mentioned in 1031. A witness Marchwart von Urbach was named in 1150 and an Erchingpert von Urbach in 1179 in a document from St. Emmeram . In Salbuch Otto the Illustrious , the "Urbarium antiquissimum" was performed under Auerbach mid-13th century as part of the Office Schwarzach. In the land register of 1283 as a ducal office and in the land register of 1326 as part of Neunburg vorm Wald .

The Salbuch from 1499 recorded Unterauerbach with three courtyards, a tavern, a brewery, a pastor and a Frühmesner. In 1622 Unterauerbach had a church, five farms, nine estates, a Sölde , a mill and 11 residents . In 1631 a tavern, a bath room, a blacksmith, 2 horses, 87 cattle, 23 pigs, 59 sheep and 2 goats were also listed. In 1661, after the end of the Thirty Years' War , there were 20 properties, 2 horses, 47 cattle, 8 pigs, 20 sheep and 7 goats in Unterauerbach.

At the end of the 18th century Unterauerbach had a church, a rectory, a pastor, a sacristan's house, a sacristan , a blacksmith's shop, a blacksmith, a hut, two keepers, a tavern, a mill and a total of 36 hearths.

19th century to the present

According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Mitterauerbach formed a tax district with the villages of Mitterauerbach, Oberauerbach, Oed and Unterauerbach. At that time Unterauerbach had a bather, a farrier, a Kramer, a miller, two shoemakers, five weavers, a landlord and 25 properties.

In 1820 rural communities were formed. This created the rural community Unterauerbach, which consisted of the village Unterauerbach with 27 families and the village Öd with 5 families.

From 1830 Unterauerbach formed an independent municipality together with the towns of Mitterauerbach , Oberauerbach , Öd and Ödgarten .

In 1974 the community was dissolved. Mitter- and Oberauerbach were incorporated into the community of Neunburg vorm Wald, Unterauerbach, Öd and Ödgarten came to Schwarzach near Nabburg. However, the borders of the Protestant parish, which previously coincided with those of the Altlandkreis Neunburg, were not shifted. Unterauerbach is still part of the Protestant parish of Neunburg vorm Wald

On December 31, 1990 Unterauerbach had 184 inhabitants and was the seat of the parish Unterauerbach, to which Krandorf, Mitterauerbach, Oberauerbach, Öd and Ödgarten also belonged. There were 313 Catholics and 10 non-Catholics in the parish territory.
