Ute Hamelmann

Ute Hamelmann (born August 13, 1975 in Münster ) is a German cartoonist and blogger .

Life and accomplishments

Hamel man began after the visit of Wilhelm Hittorf Gymnasium in Münster , where in 1995 her Abitur took off, a study of the history , art history and political science at the University of Münster , they 2001 with the master's degree completed. From 1995 to 2000 she worked as a research assistant in the Düsseldorf state parliament. From 1999 to 2004 she was a member of the district council for the CDU in the Coesfeld district .

Hamelmann has been married since 2004, has two sons and lives in Senden in the Münsterland region . As a result of her blog, she received several commercial assignments, including creating a series of videos for the sevenload online platform .

Work as a cartoonist

Hamelmann, who only seriously devoted herself to drawing after completing her studies and has mainly published her work on the Internet since 2001 , draws and writes mainly cartoons . Sometimes there and elsewhere there are also comic strips . In 2007, Carlsen Verlag published her book My First Ovulation! . In the same year Carlsen published the cartoon book Too Kurz , in which she was involved alongside four other cartoonists. Hamelmann has been drawing a weekly cartoon series for the weekly newspaper Bild der Frau since autumn 2009 . In addition, she draws cartoons for school books from Ernst Klett Verlag .

In addition, Hamelmann published Schnutinger poems and prose pieces with satirical content as well as short videos with dialogues between bizarre hand puppets like the media chick, stocking and sock and Mr. Wirrkopf in her weblog . Together with blogger Sascha Lobo , Hamelmann was an advertising advocate for Vodafone from July 2009 . Her commitment met with great rejection in the blogosphere , so she closed her blog.
