Vadim Gyesbreghs (born December 26, 1991 in Wilrijk ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Eaters Geleen in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2017 .

Career

Vadim Gyesbreghs began his career at IHC Leuven , for whom he made his debut in the Belgian honorary division at the age of 15 . After winning the Belgian championship title in 2010, he moved to the United States, where he was on the ice for Alexandria Blizzard in the junior division of the North American Hockey League for two years . He then returned to Europe and has played mainly for French clubs since then. After a year with the second division Hockey sur glace Dunkerque , he played from 2013 to 2015 for the Hockey Club de Caen in the Ligue Magnus . He then played for a year for HYC Herentals , with whom he was able to win the newly founded Belgian-Dutch BeNe League and thus also the Belgian championship title. After this success he moved back to France, where he played for Brest Albatros Hockey in the second-rate Division 1 in 2016/17 . Since 2017 he has been back in the BeNe League for Eaters Geleen .

International

For Belgium, Gyesbreghs took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships 2007 , 2008 and 2009 in Division II and the U20 World Championships 2007 in Division III, 2008 and 2009 and 2010 in Division II.

For the men's national team , Gyesbreghs played at the World Championships in 2009 , 2010 , 2013 when he was voted best player of his team, in 2015 and 2016 in Division II.
