biography
James Keogh holds a law degree from Monash University , Melbourne, and played in defense for the Australian football club Coburg Tigers, the reserve team of the AFL club Richmond Tigers , between 2008 and 2009 .
Keogh borrowed the name Vance from the narrative character in Peter Carey's book Bliss . He is signed to Atlantic Records and released his first EP in early 2013, entitled God Loves You When You're Dancing . This was followed by a sold out club tour through the major Australian cities.
The single Riptide was released in June 2013 and entered the Australian single charts . As the highest ranking it only reached number 6, but it stayed in the top 50 for 10 months and in the extended top 100 it was longer than any other single before. In May 2015 it stood there at 107 weeks. The song was also very successful internationally and was able to place itself in all major music markets and stay in the charts for a long time. The deep house remix of the title by the Austrian producer duo Flic Flac also contributed to the success .
