Velaine-en-Haye is a village and a commune déléguée in the French commune of Bois-de-Haye with 1,879 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The inhabitants are called the Velainois .

The municipality of Velaine-en-Haye merged with Sexey-les-Bois on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Bois-de-Haye. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Velaine-en-Haye belonged to the arrondissement of Toul and the canton of Le Nord-Toulois (until 2015: canton of Domèvre-en-Haye ).

Velaine-en-Haye is located about 20 kilometers north of Toul in the forest of Haye . The municipality of Velaine-en-Haye was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bois-de-Haye with Sexey-les-Bois in the north, Liverdun in the northeast, Champigneulles in the east, Maron in the south, Gondreville in the west and southwest and Fontenoy-sur-Moselle in the West and northwest. The A31 autoroute runs through the municipality .
