history
The previous community of Heßheim was created in 1972 as part of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform . Previously, the administrative structures originating from the Palatinate (Bavaria) (1816–1946) essentially applied in the then administrative district of Palatinate . The Lambsheim community has not previously belonged to any association community.
On September 28, 2010 the state government passed the “First Law on Local and Administrative Reform” with the aim of improving the efficiency, competitiveness and administrative power of local structures. For municipalities it was stipulated that these should include at least 12,000 inhabitants (main residence on June 30, 2009), for municipalities not belonging to the association, the number of inhabitants was set at 10,000. The so-called voluntary phase ended on June 30, 2012.
In February 2012 the mayors of the community-free community of Lambsheim, the community of Heßheim and the associated local communities, after approving resolutions of the councils, signed an agreement on the formation of a community community .
In the “State Law on the Voluntary Formation of the New Association Community of Lambsheim-Heßheim” of November 22, 2013, it was stipulated that the new association community will initially be called “Lambsheim-Heßheim”. The competent state ministry should ultimately determine the name of the new association within a year. The association administration of the new association has its seat in Lambsheim , a second administrative office is set up in Heßheim .
The state grants the new municipality a one-time resident-related allocation of 784,700 on the occasion of its voluntary formation. In addition, the association receives an allocation of 2,000,000 euros to reduce its liabilities.
In the period from January 30th to April 24th 2015, the Verbandsgemeinde held an ideas competition for both the name and the new coat of arms. On this basis, the municipal council decided on May 15, 2015 to keep the provisional name. The Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Ministry approved this proposal.

coat of arms
Blazon : “In a shield border divided sixteen times by black and gold, a curved black tip, inside a red-armored golden lion, who leans on a shield crossed in silver and red, above three gold stars, in front in gold a green oak branch with two red acorns and a green oak leaf, behind in gold a green sheaf of wheat with a red ribbon, above it a red key and a red sword crossed diagonally. "
The coat of arms of the eponymous municipalities Lambsheim (with the Palatinate lion and the shield of the Leiser von Lambsheim ) and Heßheim (with the three stars) are represented in the curved tip of the coat of arms shield . The acorns from the coats of arms of the local communities Großniedesheim and Kleinniedesheim are anchored in the front field . In the back field is the sheaf of ears from the coat of arms of Heuchelheim , above it the key and sword from the coat of arms of Beindersheim . The sixteen-fold division of the shield border is not discussed in the explanations given so far.
The municipal council approved the coat of arms designed by Dieter Krieger on July 1, 2015. The Landesarchiv Speyer issued a positive report and recommended the award. The formal award by the municipal supervisory authority of the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis is still pending (as of July 31, 2015).
