Maximilian Steinbeis (2010)

Maximilian Steinbeis (born September 7, 1970 in Munich ) is a German writer and journalist who has been running the Verfassungsblog since 2009 . He grew up in Brannenburg ( Upper Bavaria ). He has lived in Berlin since 2004 .

Since 2009 Steinbeis operates the Verfassungsblog , be treated in the constitutional law and policy issues in the country and abroad. Steinbeis originally ran the blog alone; later he invited scientists to publish on current topics in the constitution blog. The idea of ​​the project is to create an interface between science and the political public, Steinbeis explained to the Tagesspiegel in 2015 . In the meantime it has become a multilingual scientific author's blog in which constitutional issues are also negotiated in the context of European integration . Another goal is to set up a European network of blogs on this topic. There has been a collaboration with the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin since 2011 . 2015 published contributions from the Verfassungsblog in Nomos as a book. In the summer of the same year, after two years, the financial support for the project Verfassungsblog: Perspectives on Scientific Communication in Law as part of the Excellence Initiative at Humboldt University ended as planned .

Literary work

The first literary attempts were made in 1995. In 2003 the novella Schwarzes Wasser was published by Verlag CH Beck , and in 2010 by the Aufbau-Verlag the Roman Pascolini.

In 2011 Steinbeis took part in the 35th Days of German-Language Literature (Ingeborg Bachmann Competition) in Klagenfurt.

In the non-fiction book Talking with Rights , published together with Per Leo and Daniel-Pascal Zorn in autumn 2017 . The authors deal with the rise of the New Right and right-wing populism in a guideline and give experience reports and suggestions for political debate with their supporters.
