The list of traffic figures for Frankfurt am Main Airport provides an annual overview of the traffic figures for Frankfurt am Main Airport . The number of passengers, air movements, air freight and air mail with the percentage changes compared to the previous year since the official opening of the airport on July 8, 1936 are mentioned.

No traffic figures were published for the period from 1940 to 1949. The Second World War and the Berlin Airlift fall during this period , with the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Air Base being one of the main bases for the Allied aircraft. The raisin bombers took off and landed in Frankfurt from June 26, 1948 to September 30, 1949. During this period, 1,783,572 tons of goods of all kinds were transported to Berlin.

Since 1991 the figures are recorded without military air traffic. The list also the cuts in transport development can be seen that due to the oil crisis in 1973 and 1982, the Chernobyl accident in 1986, the Second Gulf War in 1990/91, the terrorist attack on 11 September 2001 and the financial crisis from 2007 to a decline have resulted in traffic figures. In recent years there has also been a decline in airmail due to the dissolution of the "Nachtpoststern", the most important transhipment point for Deutsche Post's mail .

  • Year: states the year the traffic data was recorded.
  • Passengers: Indicates the total number of passengers at the airport for the respective year.
  • Movements: Indicates the total flight movements of the airport.
  • Air freight: Indicates the total air freight handled at the airport excluding airmail in tons.
  • Airmail: Indicates the total number of tons of airmail handled at the airport.
  • ± in%: Indicates the percentage change compared to the previous year.
