history

The administrative community Ländereck was founded on December 1, 1991. On July 1, 1994 Hilbersdorf and on July 1, 1995 Endschütz and Kauern joined the administrative community. On August 19, 2010, the municipal council of Wünschendorf / Elster, with resolution 68/10, decided to join the Ländereck administrative community on January 1, 2012. With its 2747 inhabitants, Wünschendorf is the largest municipality in the administrative community. On February 8, 2013, the administrative community was renamed and the administrative headquarters moved to Wünschendorf. Previously, this was in Seelingstädt, where a branch office of the administration continues to exist. With the dissolution of the Leubatal administrative community on December 31, 2013, the municipality of Teichwitz joined the VG. This was decided with the Thuringian law on the voluntary reorganization of municipalities belonging to the district in 2013.
