history
Viereth probably originated from a pasture. The place was first mentioned in 911 as "Fihuriod". In 1008 the south-eastern part from Viereth to the Viehbach went to the diocese of Bamberg . The north-western part, like Trunstadt, belonged to the diocese of Würzburg . Viereth was a wine-growing place until the 18th century .
The Weiher district came to the Viereth community from the Trunstadt community in 1949 . In the course of the municipal reform in 1978, the municipality of Viereth was formed from the two municipalities. It was renamed Viereth-Trunstadt in 1980 .
Viereth had 1,029 inhabitants in 163 residential buildings in 1952, compared with 1,356 in 1987.
