The place Vilobí d'Onyar is located on the GI-533 road south of Girona and Girona Airport (GRO) . The hills of Sant Llop on the edge of the volcanic crater La Crosa form the highest point of the municipality at 203 meters. The landscape is mostly flat. The Comarca Selva ( Catalan for "jungle") is covered with pine and oak forests.

history

The earliest archaeological finds date from the Stone Age. In 882 the place Vilobí is mentioned for the first time in writing as Villa Albini.

economy

Productive soils with good irrigation from the Onyar River provide a good basis for agriculture as the most important economic factor. Since Girona Airport began operations in the late 1960s, the service sector has become another important mainstay.
