Mario Busquets Jordá
Mario Busquets Jordá (born March 3, 1935 in Vilobí d'Onyar , Comarca Selva , Province of Girona , Catalonia ) is a Spanish clergyman and emeritus prelate of Chuquibamba .
Life
Mario Busquets Jordá was ordained a priest for the diocese of Girona on March 19, 1958 . He was sent to Peru as a Fidei Donum priest , where he was pastor of the parish of San Vicente Mártir in San Vicente de Cañete in the Yauyos territorial prelature .
Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Chuquibamba on January 25, 2001 . The Archbishop of Arequipa , Luis Sánchez-Moreno Lira , ordained him episcopal on March 24th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Rino Passigato , Apostolic Nuncio in Peru , and Juan Antonio Ugarte Pérez , Prelate of Yauyos .
Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 11, 2015.
Motto
The episcopal motto of Mario Busquets Jordá is: “Evangelizare Jesum Christum” (in Latin to proclaim Jesus Christ ).
