history

In the area of the village Voislova there was already a fort called Pons Augusti in Roman times . Stones with the inscription AVIVI and PROCOS were found near the former fort, as well as the consecration stone of a governor of the Roman province of Dacia . Over the centuries, different names or different spellings of the place name appeared: 1397 Wozylyiowa , 1430 Woyzlowa , 1544 - Whezylowa , 1580 Veizlova , 1603 Voizlova , 1690 ~ 1700 Voizlova , 1774 Voeslova , 1840 Vaislova , 1843 ~ 1844 Vojslova , 1913 Szörbalány . Voislova was first mentioned in a document in 1397.

Until 1526 the settlement belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and during the Ottoman rule (1526–1718) to the Vilâyet Timișoara. From 1718 Voislova was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . As part of the Banat military border , Voislova belonged to the Wallachian-Illyrian Border Infantry Regiment No. 13 , based in Caransebeş, and was therefore directly subordinate to the Vienna Court War Council until it was dissolved in 1873 and then incorporated into the Kingdom of Hungary.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts , whereby Voislova fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
